Imme Linzer was born in Hamburg and lives here with her husband. Painting was her passion since her early childhood. At the age of 8 years she already copied Edgar Degas. Thereafter Imme Linzers father furnished her a studio in the attic, where they painted landscapes together. A painting of Imme Linzer, which was developed on a street festival, was printed in the German magazine ‘Hörzu’ a few years later. During her studies to become a qualified fashion designer at the Hamburg University of Applied Science, she participated in various competitions and won one in corporate design in 1989.

Imme Linzer completed her first painting in 1992. After that ensued a longstanding hiatus meanwhile she taught painting and drawing to children and adults. In 2011 the artist commenced again with painting and finished 30 paintings until her first exhibition in 2013 in Hamburg. Half of the paintings were sold and honoured by an article in the German newspaper ‘Hamburger Abendblatt’.

Imme Linzer wants to touch people’s hearts with her paintings, which should be as colourful as God’s creation. Simultaneously she wishes that her paintings shine, because Christ says: ‘He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light’.
